<p>The first step then, is to define intermittent fasting.  Fasting, is just the choice to go without food for a set amount of time.  This may be a range of 8-24 hours, or even longer, but it is not just skipping a meal on accident.  Sometimes, a fast may develop out of nowhere or spontaneously, but that is not often the case.  Typically, people will set aside some time each day, or every couple of days to take a break from eating.</p>
